Undergraduate Program
Academy of Food Marketing
The common denominator of man is the need for food. As agricultural production was the first trade of mankind, Food Marketing is indeed the “Lifeline of the World” today with its great dimensions, segments and modern developments. Saint Joseph’s University prepares men and women for an exciting and challenging professional career in the food industry.
Leading to a Bachelor of Science degree, students in the Food Marketing undergraduate program prepare for diverse careers, including advertising, brand management, market research and managerial positions in food retailing, food service and sales. The $370 billion food industry is the largest employer in the US today!
The curriculum is a blend of liberal arts, business and marketing courses. Within the course offerings, faculty strives to tie the curriculum to the particular needs of the food industry. Students use practical application through team projects addressing current issues facing the food companies. Undergraduates may also join the student-run Food Marketing Association. Our comprehensive Food Marketing program makes our students highly sought after upon graduation.
Food Marketing students may receive financial assistance while gaining valuable work experience through placement programs, summer work, internships and a 5-year co-operative education program. These programs along with student scholarships are available through The Academy of Food Marketing.
