Dr. Nancy M. Childs
Professor and Chair, Department of Food Marketing
Dr. Childs is an active researcher, teacher, consultant and advisor in the area of food and health. Her most recent research addresses food advertising and children, food labeling and health claims, health claims and product positioning strategies, consumer characteristics, market value impact of label regulation, and anti-obesity policy’s impact on the food industry and retailers. She is a Pedro Arrupe Center for Business Ethics Research Fellow and has received each of the university’s Extraordinary Achievement Awards in Research, Teaching, Service and Advising. She’s participated in numerous public policy forums in the US and internationally including the National Academy of Science Food and Nutrition Board Food Forum, DHHS Secretary’s Obesity Roundtable, the FDA’s advisory committee on dietary supplement labeling, and the Plenary Session of the EU addressing health claims for food products. She was one of twelve business faculty nationally selected to attend the elite Keizai-Koho AACSB tour to Japan. She’s served as a member of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia Educational Institutions subcommittee.

Dr. Richard R. George
Professor, Department of Food Marketing
Dr. Richard George is Professor of Food Marketing at St. Joseph’s University. In addition to lecturing internationally on such topics as marketing strategy, trends, leadership and business ethics, he lived and taught in England (University of London), Ireland (University College Cork), and China (Donghau University – Shanghai). En route to academia, he worked in marketing research and marketing management for Scott Paper Company. He has consulted for organizations including Campbell’s, Del Monte, Pfizer, Wawa Food Markets, the EPA, Uncle Ben’s, 3M, Consolidated Edison, and the Irish Food Board. He holds an MBA degree from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from Temple University. Books include Success Leaves Clues, Delight Me…The Ten Commandments of Customer Service, 21 Trends in Food Marketing for the 21st Century (all in collaboration with Dr. John Stanton), and Customer Power: Seven Steps to Get What You Want (and Deserve). |

Mark Lang
Associate Professor, Department of Food Marketing
Mark Lang has recently joined the Food Marketing faculty of Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Mark has been a marketing and research professional in food and retailing for twenty years. For the past eleven years, he was corporate Director of Marketing & Research at Publix Super Markets. Previously, Mark worked in brand management and market analysis for Melitta Coffee, CIBC Bank, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Over his career, Mark has been responsible for hundreds of research projects and surveyed over one million customers. He has led the development and promotion of almost a thousand different products. Mark has worked extensively with brand strategy, package design, pricing, advertising, promotion, merchandising, store design, and service. In doing this he has worked closely with senior management, sales, store operations, category management, manufacturing, advertising agencies, research companies, and consulting firms.
Mark holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelors degree in Economics from York University in Toronto. In terms of leadership, Mark has received corporate awards for service and leadership and served on numerous boards, committees, and associations.
Mark’s areas of interest for research, teaching, and consulting focus on food products marketing and retailing. Specific topics include: marketing research, consumer behavior, segmentation, positioning, branding, product development, merchandising, and communications.

Dr. Marty Meloche
Associate Professor, Department of Food Marketing
From 1965-1984 Dr. Marty Meloche was employed with Chatham Supermarkets, a 75-store supermarket and drug store chain in Detroit, Michigan, where he held positions including Director of Marketing, Director of Grocery Merchandising, Corporate Grocery Sales Manager, and Corporate Sales Promotion Manager. He has consulted for Wal-Mart, SuperValu and Fleming. More recently, he served as Chairman of the Food Marketing Department at Saint Joseph's University. He has presented research at The American Collegiate Retailing Assn., Academy of Marketing Science, and American Marketing Assn., and is published in journals such as R&D Management, The Journal of Marketing Management, The Journal of Food Products Marketing, and The Journal of Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management. He holds a B.S.B.A. degree from Walsh College, Masters from Central Michigan University, and a Doctorate from the University of Kentucky. |

Dr. John Stanton
Professor, Department of Food Marketing
Dr. Stanton, Professor of Food Marketing, has been speaking, writing and consulting in the area of marketing strategy, marketing trends and customer service for over 20 years. Recently, he co-authored, Making Niche Marketing Work, and Marketing Planning in a Total Quality Environment. He is also co-author of three books with Saint Joseph's University’s Dr. Richard George. He has spoken internationally before numerous food and allied organizations, as well as at major non-food companies. He has appeared on CNN, NBC Nightly News, and has been quoted in Fortune, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and industry publications such as Supermarket Business, Progressive Grocer and Brand Week. While on leave from the University, he spent a year in Germany working for Tengelmann, one of the world's largest food retailers and held a two-year term as Vice President of Marketing for Melitta. In addition, he has served as director of research for an advertising agency. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Syracuse University. |

Mr. C. Winston (Win) Taylor
C.J. McNutt Executive Chair of Food Marketing
C. Winston Taylor currently holds the C.J. McNutt Chair of Food Marketing position, a position that recognizes a career distinguished by individual excellence and high achievement in the food industry. The Chair activities include teaching and lectures in various degree and non-degree programs, research, and business networking.
Win is a food industry veteran, holding senior level positions over the past 20 years. His resume includes: Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Venice Maid Foods (1999-2000), Executive Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Home Shopping Showcase (1996-1999), President, Campbell Sales Company and Corporate Vice President-Sales, Campbell Soup Company (1993-1995), Vice President and General Sales Manager, Campbell Soup Company (1992-1993), Vice President and General Manager, Western US, Campbell Soup Company (1988-1992), and Vice President-Human Resources, Campbell Sales Company (1985-1988.) In addition, Win has been recognized with the following awards: Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society, Food People Magazine Manufacturer of the Year 1995, President's Cup Winner 1983 & 1984, Campbell Soup Company, and Who's Who Registry of Business Leaders.
Mr. Taylor also presented on a wide-array of critical food industry topics for many professional organizations, including: A. C. Nielsen Nordic Business Conferences, Dental Manufacturers of America, National American Wholesale Grocers Association, Strategic Research Institute, NAWGA, IBM Grocery Industry Customer Advisory Council, and New England Wholesale Food Distributors Association Forum. He has been a guest lecturer at the Wharton School of Business (Family Business Seminar), Penn State University (Food Product Marketing), University of Delaware (College of Business and Economics), The Forum Corporation/Bristol Myers Squibb (Managing Organizational Change.) He published, "The ECR Roadmap-Organizing Your Effort."
Win holds leadership positions in other organizations, including: Director, Alternative Work Environments (Conshohocken, PA), Director, The Moore Pushpin Company (Wyndmoor, PA), and Co-chairperson of the Holistic Subcommittee on Best Practices of the FMI/GMA Joint Industry Efficient Consumer Response project. He also served as consultant to the ARA Book and Magazine Division, National Wholesale Drug Association, CyberChalk.com Learning Network, Snider Capital Corporation.
